The process (IMO)
-Big player is banned for example Baiin. Bains friends N2Z kingmyarse kaneg and who else want to play with him, they start playing on a new server so they can all play, they start liking this server they spend more time there then here. They slowly forget minerealm.

I did this myself on another server I'd have 5 vortex members on just to chill, and this slowly separates people from the server.

Anyway to sum it up, to many big players are leaving and very few are coming.
How to resolve this? Let back some perma-ban players. That will not only bring more players, but more donations ECT. Some people have been banned 1-2 years maybe give them a new shot?

We all left the server due to me getting banned and now magical getting banned. I alt evaded to get back on but to no good use.

Me and The boys would love to play again but I guess that can't happen.

The reason there has become a massive drop in players is due to the enormous banlist this server has. Maybe being a little too strict at times but when necessary nobody can complain.

Not just you, also Ceph, Frosty, OneMan, Kaneg, etc. A lot of the seroius PVPers have been banned.

Then of course there were people like myself who would occasionally lurk in the Nether and PVP but we stopped because all the really dedicated PVPers either left or stopped PVPing.

I've tried to get many different friends to come online and play on Minerealm and I get the same reactions from all of them. Too many rules, too strictly enforced. The cursing filter is usually a big turn off.

With that in mind, I play less because I can't convince any friends to stay on for longer than couple days.
"Survival" implies at least some element of anarchy that new people would expect, none of which exists here.

I mean, really? An application to purchase a realm? I thought this was a game, not an office-job simulator.

Minerealm (And all of Minecraft, for myself) has become so ludicrously boring and filled with...you know what, I can't even say because I'd probably be banned for hurting people's feelings or something.

I get that with a large server, you need to be pretty clear on the rules and have a fair amount of them to cover everything, and I love how easy it is to preserve our builds, but come on now. If someone doesn't log in for 30 days, their stuff should be up for grabs regardless of the purchaser's intent with the items. If someone is perma-banned, just disband their realms already! These are just two of the things I have a serious problem with with this server. That, and the swearing-filter.

If I was joining the server as a new player right now, I would be severely unimpressed by the immediate spawn area. It's full of ugly small builds that do nothing to show the scale of builder talent available. There's some great stuff a few hundred blocks out or more, but nothing right at spawn is exactly impressive, it's looked like a half-started project for months now.

In my view, Minerealm has lost its appeal. Sure, playing online with friends is enjoyable, but repetitive survival will eventually become very boring. Basically, Minerealm needs something new to keep the player base entertained (like this new 1.7 wipe). Until something fresh is added, I don't think the player base is going to increase very much.
