For example iOS dynamic background(Live wallpaper for those who don't know) is almost completely identical to that of one of Android's stock live wallpapers. But again they all take stuff from one another so nothing new.
I use both and I wouldn't say it's further but that's my opinion and we will always have different opinions.
Also this guy would beg to differ with what you said(Note he was for the iOS 7) -
"Do you see places where Apple is playing catch-up with Android?
They've done things like having a singular search box in Safari. Google Chrome did that a long time ago. iOS 7 has a streamlined notification center that's more like Google Now.
Double-tapping to see all the apps that are running, that's very much an Android feature. The Control Center is an Android feature. None of these are ... exactly one-to-one, but the concept is very much the same. Even the Notification Center in general was an Android feature. Even little things like animated backgrounds. It seems like a little bit of a gimmick, but Android has been doing that forever."
I know iOS has used multitasking but the new looks it much like Android's now, hence why I said people are basing it on looks. Either way the new look alone is what drove me to stay on 6.1.3, if I wanted a phone that looked like a rainbow I'd do that on my Android.
Then something which will always be true(Different guy) -
"When it comes to customization, Android is still king with its widgets, live wallpapers, and custom launchers."
Intelli wrote:What am I looking at? Apple has already had multitasking, a lock screen, etc, far before iOS 7. The functionality, and layout, isn't that much different than iOS 6.I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing with you I was stating that people are comparing it based on looks. As far as Android taken from other platforms, well all companies do it nothing new here.
I have an Android phone, and I'd argue that iOS now feels further away from Android, not closer. If there was any design inspiration from Android, it doesn't amount to anything greater than what Android has taken from other platforms in the past.
