Good Point... Either is fine.

For the black backgrounds:
I'll put the image in MS Word, click Page Layout, then Page Color -- Black. That should work. If not, I'll cut out the image from the white printer paper.

I believe he meant that it would require a lot of ink to print. If you're fine with that it's no problem, but I think that's his intended point.

First one. Not directly space related, but just think of the fractal patterns as supernovas. I also made it .5 inches smaller, just so the image doesn't need to be trimmed or whatever.
