the definition of hater in a dictionary
Hater-A guy/girl who likes the show My Little Pony but is too much of a whimp to show it.

We should widen that definition.
Although some girls may prefer the term Pegasister, they can also identify as being a Brony if they so wish.

It's all Applebloom's fault...

The background for Scootaloo is suprizingly sparse and this seems to be a trend with Pegasus ponies in the show. I mean we only just found out in a brief flashback who Rainbow Dash's Father might be.
Where as Sweetie Belle and Applebloom have some family relatives, we know next to nothing about Scootaloo. Is she an orphan? Who knows?
One thing I do know is that Lauren Faust originally intended Scootaloo to be disabled and unable to fly, rather than just a late developer. But some things change during the development of a show and Scootaloo just being a late flyer was one of them.
We probably won't get an answer if she's an orphan as there are some limits to which the show is likely to be able to portray.

However the fan community are more than willing to have a stab at giving answers to Scootaloo's background...
