Okay wall of text time!
Hobbies and passions include; drawing (sketching by hand and digitally scanning in and digitally colouring), playing computer games mainly on the PC which can include awide range of different genres from platformers, rpg and sims to even some first person shooters (i.e. Half Life).
I like old games ( I love the oldies such as Xcom UFO, Colonization, TTD, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, etc.) and newer games (Napoleon Total War, Sonic: Generations, TF2, Minecraft, etc.). I'm looking forward to buying Skyrim at some point...
I like playing games whether its physical and active or less active and more cerebal. As a result my hobbies include collecting modelling, painting and playing Games Workshop games including Warhammer 40k, Warhammer, Warhammerquest, etc.
I have several armies from 40k, including; Imperial Guard (I'm a treadhead, got a tank company and building up a mechanized platoon), Space Marines (The Omega Legion, got half a first company and about 3 companies of marines), Tyranids (Genestealer horde mainly due to Space Hulk) & Orks. From Warhammer I have an Empire army and a Dwarf army.
I try to keep active and attend fitness classes either once or twice a week down at the local park.
I occassionally go out cycling and have been more active in the past going swimming. I regularly take part in the Plymouth Half-Marathon each year to test my fitness levels and I hope to one day try and do the London marathon.
I'm a huge fan of watching films and animated stuff and have far too many DVDs'. Favourate genres are thrillers, adventure, comedy and romantic-comedy. Not really a fan of horror, especially the gory stuff, but don't mind ones which involve more suspense. I often go to the cinema to watch films, either alone or with friends and I've been meaning to catch the lastest Sherlock Holmes film, amongst others.
Favourate films include; Groundhog Day, the lastest Batman films, Lord of the Rings and Orlando starring Tilda Swinton.
Certainly looking forward to the Hobbit films and await the last Batman film with a mixture of apprehension and trepidation.
I used to watch a fair amount of TV, mainly cartoons, scifi and documentaries. Usually catch stuff up on BBCi player such as Doctor Who, Sherlock and other documentary series or youtube which is where I watch the MLP series. I feel that the internet will become more convenient than conventional TV in future.
I'm a big fan of all things animated from 2D to CGI and flash and as a result often watch stuff on youtube, deviantart or newsgrounds. I have a big collection of animated DVD's from pixar to anime and I particularly like Studio Ghibli and have most of their films. Big fan of old animated shows (such as; SATAM, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses 31 and Batman the animated series (1990's)) and newer shows such as Friendship is magic.
To list all films and cartoons I like would take far to long and I feel this is taking up a great deal of text already.
I'm not above (or is that below?) going to the theatre occasionally and I recently went to see An Inspector Calls at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth and Barbershopera Apocalypse No! which was awesome. I like mostly watching the fun stuff, the entertaining because I can be quite a serious fellow.
I also went to see the Batman stageshow at the O2 Arena in London and I hope to see the new War of the Worlds come next december.
I like listenning to music and have an eclectic taste in music, as a result I listen to just about everything from pop, rock to classical and soundtracks. My first love is to orchestral and classical music. I love percussion and the organ. My favourate artists include Carl Orf, Handel and a number of other composers. I enjoy listenning to more modern artists as well, Amy Macdonald, even Lilly Allen (usually censored) and Lady Gaga. I also enjoy listenning to less mainstream independant artists (Zack Hemsey) and listenning to remixes. I also love soundtracks to Films, TV and video games and love to listen to them to help me either wind down at the end of a work shift or whilst getting ready for work.
My passions? When I'm focused on a particular hobby I can be quite passionate about it, sometimes even going as far to draw about it of even write. I'm interested/passionate about the world and universe in which we live, what happened in the past, what is happenning at the present and where potentially we could head in the future. I'm interested in history, geography, geology, science, arts and philosphy. I'm a social liberal, humanitarian and I feel passionately about trying to improve the world for the better.
