Oh, I'd like to add the not-quite-retro-but-still-old game of Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. David Warner made that game so awesome.

My favorite old game would probably be Master of Magic, which is an old DOS game from 1994, and still one of my favorite games of all time.

I currently have both BG1 and BG2 installed (And linked together using the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod).

Metroid: Zero Mission is probably my favorite old school game besides the Mario series. I'm a Metroid fan. @-@

Super Mario Bros. 3

Great fun, smooth controls, hours of gameplay, originality, and replay value make this the best game I've ever played.

The second best is Tetris, fot its perfection of abstract game design. And yes, the original tetris was made in communist russia for ibm compatible computers. Nintendo just bought the rights.
