I think those are actually pumpkin and melon seeds. I know they've been talked about. Besides that, look at the bottom right of terrain.png. There's like footprints and some sorta curved track-like thing?

Also, the meat, I've heard, is porkchops like always, and steak! OM FREAKIN NOM.

Fair enough. I have never seen this "template" or whatever it is called. Just started playing in July so I suppose you could say I'm fairly new.
