I have been using it and I think the updates wierd at first but great! It adds a new android like look, and a lot of other new features. The iPhone is still the number one phone bought and used in the market and in my opinion it dominates. Android may allow you to install stuff like flash player but really apple has all the basic needs and functions.

When the update makes the IPhone look just like a children's fake plastic IPhone I think there is a major problem. Overall the new look is pathetic, yeah they added some nifty new features but for a phone that has limited space a major update like this isn't necessary.

But as you said "apple has all the basic needs and functions" which is exactly why they are the leading seller, it's easy/simple to learn/use so of course people will buy them more.

So far both me and the wife think its garbage.
Safari now looks like a cheap version of internet explorer and the whole feel is just bland.

Updated one of my iPads today. New design is great, and I recommend trying out the dynamic backgrounds.

Overall though, the OS is less changed in terms of functionality than I thought it'd be. I'm not sure how people are comparing it to other systems (such as Android), when overall, it now feels even more refined, and in a class of its own. The update definitely makes the device feel like an "Apple device", and hasn't at any point caused me to draw a comparison to my Android devices.

However, neither iOS 7, nor Android 4.3, are nearly as slick as Blackberry 10.1. If anyone is looking for a new mobile device, make sure to give BB10 a try.

What am I looking at? Apple has already had multitasking, a lock screen, etc, far before iOS 7. The functionality, and layout, isn't that much different than iOS 6.

I have an Android phone, and I'd argue that iOS now feels further away from Android, not closer. If there was any design inspiration from Android, it doesn't amount to anything greater than what Android has taken from other platforms in the past.
