Hello again, sorry it took long to post this. Went away for the weekend and whatnot.

Start @ second image (http://imgur.com/EsJ7mQ5,jsl6qSm,7Z5sTQV#1), if you place a torch on the orange block, which is adjacent to a wall, it will activate the redstone leading to this (Third image: http://imgur.com/EsJ7mQ5,jsl6qSm,7Z5sTQV#2).
The redstone lamp can be redstone leading to a piston door.
The first image (http://imgur.com/EsJ7mQ5,jsl6qSm,7Z5sTQV#0) is how you open the door once you're inside. The pushed block reactivates the original circuit, and then it also activates the pink wool'd circuit. The pink wool'd circuit would lead to a sticky piston that pushes the orange block up. This lets you securely close the piston door behind you once you enter. And it can open the door once you leave.
I added repeaters on my piston doors to extender their duration while opened.
I prefer this method over placing a block in front of a repeater that can activate a redstone circuit and having a piston push that block because of aesthetics.
