Just on that note, I've heard good things about Windows 8.1. Word has it that it's what 7 was to Vista. If that's true, I'd be surprised, but there is a chance windows 8 will become usable in the future.

Windows 8 is usable unless you're incredibly lazy and unwilling. Just install ClassicStart, and you will have a proper start menu/button.

Windows 8.1's start button is literally just a shortcut back to the Metro Home Screen.

This really caught my eye. I see a lot of potential with this, I can easily see someone using this in ways never expected. It looks like it could be a great asset in indie game development for the general population, but also looks like it could be used in possible story telling or visual arts. Can't wait to see what people do with this

Yeah, this looks really good, but not enough to make me want to buy an X1.
