I currently have 1 zombie xp grinder, but today on my mining expedition i found another zombie spawner. They are fairly close together but how close together do they need to be to make a dual mob grinder.

a monster spawner is only active when you are 17 blocks away i belive.

Actually, last time I checked, it was 24 or 26 blocks away. Lardimus, why don't you just stand between them to see?

The wiki says you must be within 17 blocks of Euclidean distance from a spawner for it to be active. The Euclidean distance can be found using the pythagorean theorem.

If your knowledgable of 3D vectors it's pretty simple to find the center between any two spawner blocks. Otherwise, just walk around until you find boundaries for when one spawner shuts off. If the distance between the two spawners is greater than 34, they won't be active at the same time if it's just one player in between them.

Yeah i found something simelar, they where one bloody block from each other, had to eat loads of cake to get over that!
