Well, I finally got around to making my own sig but I'm having trouble deciding on a background, any thoughts?

If your sig is 'The Red Magma' then use an oceany background. This will contradict and contrast with the red title, and switch things up for the better.

Contradicting is a good color scheme though.

I made my own sig using free trial of photoshop CS5.. It is pretty bad, but it was my first time using it

And here is a signature I made for my friend that plays WoW and he rolls a resto druid..

This is his real character that he sent to me.. His name is "Tranquilityy" {trying to find a way to fit in the 2 y's without it looking bad} he is on the realm stormrage if you are wondering hehe
