Think of it from Spritzo's point of view. You are devaluing the hard work that would go into making a guide for Minecraft. The apps from apple and android stores are cheap because they cover minimal information (ie crafting recipes). These apps are also cheap because info is just copy and pasted from one source to theirs. Whereas Spritzo is typing his by hand working off of already existing information, but also from his experiences. There is also printing costs to think about. There's also the novelty of having a nicely designed physical Minecraft book, instead of a poorly designed Minecraft app.

If it's an actual, NICE, physical book, then certainly, it's worth a little more. The problem, however, is that there are free guides as a prevalent part of modern game culture. gamefaqs.com is pretty much the death of guides for all but collectors and a few people who just like having the physical book. Furthermore, this is actually the kind of information I would personally be willing to disseminate for free. After all, the more other players know, the better they are, and the better they are, the more they contribute, which benefits me by improving the server experience.

Yeah a physical book would be awesome. It's nice to have something there that can be referenced at any time if necessary. The problem today is the publishing and printing costs; they are just way too freaking high. I looked into getting a physical book printed (in color) and depending on the page count the cost would be higher. Obviously. IIRC, I'd get barely 50% profit.

Anyway, the "pay as you wish" thing is better for the consumer, obviously. But there's a good chance 9.5 out of 10 people will take it for free. If they were required to pay some amount, they'd go with $.01 and be happy with it. I might as well give the guide away in that case. Too many demanding people today (such as myself) that don't want to pay for the work that someone put into something.

I'll work on something. Right now I'm focused on getting the outline for it done and starting on it.

I think that for a full informational guide $10-15 would be a reasonable price. Even if it's based on multiplayer it still would be very helpful for new players.

I do not get my information from a stupid app, I get it from Youtube, where there are several people to rely on.

Anyways, you should make it like the pokemon guide, where there is every little possible piece of information about the game, and a large list of mods for minecraft.
