Well my fellow minerealmers, finally after a week short of a year since the last content containing snapshot was released we have a our own look at what all is going to be in 1.9. I think this is a decent start on 1.9, I just sincerely hope that the handful of mojang devs are able to put together a bit more for this release as its been nearly a full year since the last one. Here's hoping it isnt just up to dinnerbone alone to create content for this one.

Let everyone else know what you think about the changes, and plus I'd like to hear what your guy's thoughts would be on wiping the end in favor of this update. (Even if it coming to minerealm is a year away).

Wiping and opening up the end would be a good move imo , unless the reason it's closed off to return is lag of course. Return portals are possible now anyway, so no breaking the legit vanilla policy either.

I'm normally opposed to wipes, but in this case I'd have to agree. Since no part of the End (AFAIK) has really been modified at all except the entrance (which has a garden made by MsPacman), perhaps it could all be wiped except for that.

In any case, both of the biggest objections to the End no longer apply. Enchanting is already broken, so there's no real need for what previously would have been incredibly OP and game-breaking Enderman XP farms (which would now be disrupted a great deal by Endermites and Shulkers, anyway); and, since the End is now infinite, we don't need to worry about noobs mining out the entire End for End Stone.

I'm with dlgn here in that I don't like wiping, but this is the End and nothing really there. I only have the problem with those that are near an Ender Portal will go in and take all the good things, though that was the same case for the Nether Quartz. It would still be a good idea as it would give us access to making the levitation potions. With that in mind, Intelli would have to fix the auto ban for flying as it would get many people that are levitating using the negative effect.

Just wish Mojang didn't change the resource pack layout a bit.

I'm all for an end wipe, but perhaps give a dropbox world download of it. For the giggles/memories. I loved the garden, the trees, the historic sites, the semi auto melon farm, and people's attempts to go outside the border. Also this update is AWESOME! I've seen mods attempt this but always fail, and the combat stuff is much needed too. I don't get what they mean by new arrows but I suppose that's a thing I just didn't bother to read about.
