Current daily deal is dungeon crawler RPGs. The first level gets you Paper Sorcerer, which I haven't played, but looks interesting. Beating the average gets you the dungeon crawler blobber Legends of Grimrock, which is a quite fun throwback to old school dungeon crawlers. If you pay more than $10, you get Desktop Dungeons, which is a dungeon crawler/sort of puzzlish game, which I haven't played, but has good reviews. I think that paying enough for Grimrock is a good idea if you haven't already played it.

The current weekly bundle has two sets of games. The first is the Age of Wonders set, which is a fantasy turn based strategy. Its supposed to be quite good, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. The other is some of the Divinity Series of games. The first two are good, old school RPGs, and the 3rd is a RTSish game. I've played the first two, but not the second. This is another good bundle.

The new daily deal is Spreadsheet Simulator: The Game Eve Online. It is a horribly complex MMO space game. While I enjoy reading about the various things that go on in it, its not something I'm willing to devote much time to. However, if you are already interested in it, this might be a good deal for you.

As tempted as I have been with some of these deals so far all I ended up with was Age of Empires III complete for $3 in a flash sale.
I'm also tempted to get the weekly deal but haven't fronted up the cash yet.

I did however spend $10 on 1 months xbox live sub in exchange for.....
Saints Row the Third.
Street Fighter IV
Dark Souls
And Charlie Murder (whatever that is)

Not bad for games I've never played.

Kero's summary of Eve online is pretty accurate. I've played the game on and off for about a year or two worth of subscription time. It's the biggest time sink of any MMO I know. You really get to know your corp mates. It really it kind of like a second life. Not recommended for students!

If you've been unsure about getting it, 1 cent or more is extremely good value for a month of game time. There are less spreadsheets involved than you might think... Though during my time I did make ONE spreadsheet when I was figuring out how efficient mining is... Turns out killing people and things is both faster and more fun!


Pretty sure everyone would love the subreddit /r/gamedeals. Pretty comprehensive coverage of all the wicked deals you can grab online. Worth subscribing if you aren't already.
