Keyword: JOKE It's not meant to be taken seriously. No jokes are meant to be serious. That's the point of jokes: to be humorous, not serious.

Jokes are made all the time about blacks, white, mexicans, asians, indians, men, women, babies, gays, lesbians, catholics, mormons, jews, atheists, christians, animals, Chuck Norris, your mom, my mom, etc.,

and they are meant to be nothing but jokes. Not to be used to cruelly mock whoever the joke is about, but just to be humorous.

People sometimes take them too far and get offensive, but I have seen nothing that has been taken to that point here, just a passive joke that has been blown out of proportion because you can't handle a small funny.

Currently, and I say this with no offense, you are a joke. At this moment, no one can take you seriously because every time something funny or clever pops up on the forums, you dive right in and completely butcher it, saying it's morally wrong and outright offensive.

You say you miss the old Minerealm because now everyone is uptight and thinks highly of themselves and no one else. I hope you know that you're contributing to this allegation, more-so now than ever, than most people are. It seems like you always have something to say when you see something you don't exactly like.

The police forces can take some mockery. So can sanitation officials. Activists, on the other hand, are almost never taken seriously. Mocking them makes that worse.

So you're being selective too.
You're getting mad at us 'hating on' (Which is not our intention) a certain group... But over here you're clearly saying that the police forces who keep us safe and sanitation and safety officials who keep us from dying are good to mock?
It's better to mock people who save lives than those who improve lives that already exist?
Without police and safety forces, there would be fewer lives to improve.
It seems to me you're extremely selective about protecting this one group, and refuse to acknowledge that other groups deserve respect too, those who pursue justice and keep people alive.

Basically you're saying that you feel about everyone besides social activists as you think we think about social activists.

Tell me, who is the bad guy here?

Then you're in no position to lord over us your 'goodness'.

Then you have no point in protecting your little group.

Evidently you are just like us, just to different groups. So you have no authority over us to say that WE'RE the villains in this situation.

MineRealm is not really the place to be discussing these kinds of issues. Mainly because this is a forum for a game called MineCraft, not a sociology forum. This doesn't mean you're not allowed to discuss anything other than MineRealm/MineCraft related issues, however, when those discussions start having a negative effect on the forums it's a different story.

Proposing that completely innocent and playful threads are being discriminating or disrespectful to certain groups is preposterous to start with. To then try and argue that over the internet while people are just trying to have some fun is not doing anyone any good. Nobody on MineRealm is intentionally trying to be disrespectful towards any particular group and if any particular group feels offended, that is their problem.

I think limiting people's freedom of speech to avoid offending anyone to such an extent is a very dangerous path to tread. Especially since a lot of jokes related to racism or other kinds of discrimination are often meant to ridicule those practices rather than promote them. You're not going to make the world a better place by voilently fighting against people who make these jokes.
