This is gonna be my last post lol. Don't want to derail this thread more.
But the SSD is much more expensive than much larger hard drives and will make the computer run faster at everything from starting up, launching applications, etc. It is one of the most important upgrades you can make on a computer. The difference is night and day.
Ram is one of the cheapest and easiest things to upgrade on a computer and won't make all that much difference.
The screen itself adds a significant amount to the cost to produce the computer, and is also one of the most important aspects. It is what you interact with every time you use it.
The new generation of Intel processors significantly improves battery life, along with OSX (mavericks in particular) being a much more power efficient operating system.
In addition, other reviews' battery tests have indicated that it lasts slightly longer than the 9 hours advertised.
Not to mention, on pretty much every review site, macs dominate their lists of top computers to buy and pretty much trounce the competition. Specs are only one part of the equation, and although macs are still competitive in terms of specs, it is the complete package that makes them great computers.
It's funny that I like macs, because on the other side of things I love android phones and completely loathe iOS. Apple takes much larger profits on its mobile devices than their macs, and I actually do think iPhones, iPads, etc are quite overpriced for what you get.
