So, this is the current format:

In-game Name: Eetrab
Item(s) up for auction: 1 Stack of melon slices
Starting bid: 10k
Minimum increments: 1k
Buyout Price (Optional): 20k

This is what I propose, to add a (tax included/excluded) with starting/buyout price. Here is an example:

In-game Name: Eetrab
Item(s) up for auction: 1 Stack of melon slices
Starting bid (with tax): 10k
Minimum increments: 1k
Buyout Price (Optional, without tax): 20k (22k with tax)

Edit: If you want to bid, you can!

Umm...how people do auctions is their own choice...thus this is completely pointless.

p.s. Where I live irl, there's no sales tax.

I like to be very specific (and thus others too). The reason I created this suggestion is that I have been caught up with this buying a stack of diamonds, tax excluded was not specified, and I had to pay more than I thought previously.

Tax included is default. If tax is not included, they have to say so.

My point is, this is already a rule, thus this thread is completely pointless.

It is not stated explicitly in the auction rules.

Edit: Please show me where it is said that taxes are automatically included.

TITLE Auction: [ITEM]

LAYOUT
In-game Name:
Item(s) up for auction:
Starting bid:
Minimum increments:
Ending date & time (Specify a timezone):
Buyout Price (Optional):
If there is a reserve (Optional):

Screen shots are also encouraged, because they provide proof of items, and it's easier to show what you're selling.
If auctions refuse to follow this new procedure they can be shut down at staff discretion.

EDIT: The ending date cannot simply be discretionary; you MUST give a certain length or a specific date and time.

EDIT II: Items placed up for auction should be considered sold, credits bid should be considered spent. Neither buyers nor sellers may arbitrarily withdraw bids/items.
Items should be in the same condition at the end of the auction as they were at the beginning.
Sellers MAY reject bids from individual players, but should have a reason for doing so.
Players may have a reserve, but they should tell an impartial third party ahead of time if possible, AND MUST STATE ITS PRESENCE IN THE INITIAL POST.
A seller MAY end an auction prematurely, but they need to make a post stating their intent to do so ahead of time. Ideally, this post gives 24 hours of notice or more.
The seller MUST clarify any extension rules at the beginning of the auction, in the main post, if they think bidding is going to continue.
The seller MUST state whether items can or cannot be used as a bid in thier original post.

Edit: New auction rule is as follows "Any auctions posted in the chat section will be locked(real or fake), contact a Staff member if it was put in the wrong section."

It's not an official rule, but generally speaking, the seller knows they will only get 90% of their asking price, and accepts that.

Asking people to pay tax is stupid, it's better just to raise your prices instead. Some people do it, and I can respect their decisions. It's just not necessary for it to be done that way IMO.
