After all the griefing some people including me were thinking a whitelist might be a good idea but some people argue that it would decrease community growth. I thought I'd see what everyone else was thinking though. 14 day poll.

I think there are enough people on this server that a whitelist might be a good idea but i'm not sure :/

I enjoy the user culture that evolves from a server that has no whitelist. It's what drew me here in the first place. I love the tension that results from crazy kids screwing around with the "creative status quo". There's always a good/evil conflict, which can replace the lack of plot in Minecraft. Minor griefing doesn't bother me, and keeps the "survival" aspect alive.

Of course, I'm not a moderator...so I have no idea how much work is involved with keeping the griefing to a tolerable amount.

On a separate note, I'm all for creative servers having whitelists...because it's assumed that griefing is not tolerated.

I personally refuse to join servers with whitelists, but since I am already here I would stay.
Also, this means that we probably won't get as many new people.

It's not something to start with but after having 3 or so days of spawn lava flooding and the possibility of that repeating it may be a necessary evil :/

Although Whitelists help to keep out griefers it would limit the amount of people as well & personally i find that big griefs (Lava spawn or the Obsidion in creative) help bring the community together to work together and beat the greifers

if you don't wanna get griefed don't build anywhere near spawn, i'd even suggest not on the surface, i prefer underground hidden from the world :P

This could not be more true. I disagree with a whitelist. If anyone is to deal with griefing, let the players take care of it, especially once PvP is enabled. I am a big fan of community growth and letting players solve problems.

With the group of people that we have now we all pretty much know each other well enough to understand who likes raiding/griefing and who doesn't. If there was a whitelist it would kill the survival aspect of this server. Less people would join, and we would all be "attacking" the same people over and over. I'd personally like to keep it public.

No griefer's gonna stop our community!

I agree with MotherFlap. I think we have a strong enough community that we can handle ourselves, especially with the new mods in position to help. Don't forget they also have new commands to use in the case of a griefing.
