I've thought of a way of essentially "xraying" on this server without Minerealm's xray banning script being able to stop them. It would be good if someone could think of a way to stop this.

Method doesn't need to be posted.

Isn't there still variation in specific blocks even when the seed is the same for two maps? I thought that the seed just determined the big features of the maps (like biomes) but other random(ish) things determined the specific order of blocks.

If I'm wrong, though, then it would definitely be a big problem to be addressed.

Gonna go off on a limb here and say that posting a way for people to exploit the server isn't going to end well for you.

Unfortunately no, the map is exactly the same everytime (except for the spawn point)

This is counted as cheating, has been used by cheaters in the past I believe and has been counteracted through investigation and enforcement by moderators. It should be fairly obvious to mod if you've dug straight to a resource. I sure players have been banned for attempting this in the past.
So be safe, play fair and don't cheat!

People are always going to find a loop whole in the system. But it is just a matter of time until one of those people either makes a mistake or gets too confident about it and then the ban hammer comes swinging at them.

Xray is trivial on most servers, especially on Minerealm. I can think of several ways to do it with or without client mods. There is no way to stop it without compromising the gameplay experience; and Minerealm's method is on balance the best approach to stopping it, even if it lets a few xrayers through.

Ah, all right. I've used some seeds multiple times and thought they looked different, but I was probably just spawning in different areas.
