Minecraft.net authentication server have proven to be quite unreliable which gave me the idea to have a contingency when this happens. Why not have a plugin for the gameserver that lets you login via username and password as an alternative to the poorly maintained central server. If the issue is the fear of piracy, it could always be restricted to [if username matches previous login IP address then allow login if MC servers are down]. b That would allow at least 90% of us to still be able to play. And also on the topic of piracy, as the servers have been down all day, the only people who can play are the ones who pirated the game and are playing on hacked servers. Besides the point, I think Majong has made enough money already to pay a competent system admin if they chose to.

I haven't had any trouble logging in today. Did you try both the downloaded and the web client?

i would love this if it was at all possible (and doesn't require an insane amount of work). The Minecraft servers do really suck, there down practically every day, and anyway to bypass that and work/play on minerealm would make my year.
