I'm posting this here because right now it is only an idea and I want to know Minerealm players's thoughts on it.

The idea would to assemble a trading spreadsheet of items generally traded along with their RC equivalents. The downside to this is how to organize this spreadsheet and how to keep it up to date.

I've only been back for a few days, but I feel lost when it comes to trading as there are varying prices for buying in bulk and buying a low amount. I feel that this spreadsheet would help other players such as myself who are lost when it comes to trading.

As for organization, obviously the block name is the first column of information. Next could be bulk, and single prices. But I've seen people selling lower to sell quickly, so there could also be a max and min price suggestion option.

And finally comes the maintenance. Mods and regular players would be the expected people to maintain the spreadsheet, however, I do not want to force that on them. Nor do I want the spreadsheet to be open to all to edit.

Perhaps have mean and median/mode prices listed, along with the high and low for the past week or two?

Recording all the trades and using mean, median and mode with them would be a lot more work than you would think. Just imagine how many trades happen per day, then think of adding 2 weeks of that together. You would most certainly need a program to record and do this, however, that means each RC exchange you would need to enter the block id and how many of the item.

To be honest I don't think this would be necessary and the system can be griefed far too easily. (I sell Surgeon 1000 diamonds for 1 rc a couple of times)

Also expecting all players to memorize (or keep looking up) all the block ID's seems a bit cumbersome.

I'm not saying the block id's would be included in my idea. That would only be if we implemented a program to keep track of the trades, which is not necessary.
Almost every day I see people asking the price for this and that. It would be a tool for those who have no idea of the current market value.

Probably the easiest thing to do would be compile a list of the prices of the major shops. They get free advertising, we get at least a vague idea of what things are worth.

I don't like the idea of having a list of prices really. Items should be worth what people are willing to pay for them based on supply and demand.

As soon as you put a list up somewhere I'll no longer be able to rip people off. :P

Hempin' Goods:

Iron: 400/stack ingots.
Gold: 100/block
Diamond: 75/piece - 650/block
Wool: 400/stack (550 colored)
Stone Brick: 75/stack
Lapis Lazuli: 20/block
Obsidian: 450/stack
Mossy Stone: 300/stack
Pumpkin: 175 (200/Jack'o'lantern)

Their are lots more, but these are just off the top of my head. I'm located at spawn about -30 blocks away if you'd like to check all the prices.

Last time I checked, your price on obsidian was 600, and the price was 28/block of lapis, Cannabin0l (hint hint, don't make me waste credits :P)
