Yey or Ney? (Read OP)

Sure, sounds like a cool idea, I can finally get some privacy.

Just throwing this out here, no need to get into a heated debate, just an idea.

Very similar, if not exactly the same concept of the borders of the world that we currently have, would have a toggle option for people in their realms. I have no idea if this is even possible or if it would just take an obscene amount of time, I'm not a coder, that's why Intelli can take a look at this.

I've decided to purchase my first realms outside the Abyssus spawn, close enough range that newbs wander in and take a gander at my (beautiful) realm. I usually spend most of my time in my realm, reconstructing or farming crops, and I too have newbs all over me while I'm working, collecting my sugarcane as it drops or pieces of a building I'm reconstruction, and it's just a pain going out my way to light them on fire (lol) so I propose this idea. Also if the realm owner logs out with the borders up they go down in 5 minutes or something like that.

1. Stand in realm
2. /border (Realm borders are now ON)
3. Newb reaches border ("Sorry, this realm is currently closed!")
4.??????
5. Profit! In the form of keeping my fallen blocks/not damaging my flint/steel :D

Discuss the idea if you wish, I resent having people say "welp i jus dont wants anymoar coding on the server dood".

This was present in 2.0 and removed because it basically made vast areas of land an impassable wall, making it crazy hard to explore or get to certain parts of the map. It turned into an annoyance pretty quick, and I wouldn't expect it to ever make a return.

Note that, in this proposal, it takes a specific command to activate the "border", and the border disappears after the realm owner logs out. As a result, most private realms will be accessible most of the time, and there wouldn't (except in the case of very large areas owned by the same person) be situations where an entire region of the map is inaccessible.

That being said, I see this idea as being only mildly useful, since for the most part the noobs wandering around causing trouble only show up in small areas around spawn points. If Intelli can throw this together in half a dozen lines of code, then yeah, sure, it would be a nice addition. But if it would take a lot of additional work, I don't think the limited benefits of the idea would justify asking him to dedicate so much time to the project.

Tis why I thought I'd suggest it anyway, it may be a seemingly quick coding procedure he's familiar with or something he's not too experienced in, which is why I presented the idea, and the command would be realm specific as for giant impassable walls of land.

There was this one realm named "the 3 amigos" back in 2.0, it was 20 wide and 300 long and impassable and right next to spawn. So no, this idea is bad and should never again inflict itself upon the land of minerealm.

Id be more in favor of maybe just having items dropped in a private realm be unable to be obtained by anyone but those with building privileges for that realm. That way, people can freely pass through land, but you don't have to worry about items being taken from personal realms in farming or reconstructing instances. That is, if this is possible. I known nothing about coding, so I'm only assuming this is a viable option.

Nuuuuuu...

In 2.0, there was this realm near mine. Jailbird556 accidentally walked into the border and was shoved into the ground. He lost many diamonds and other valuables on that sad day...

DO YOU WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU?!

I didn't think so...

That's clearly a better idea, I thought of that but I'm not sure if it's even possible.

Alternatively, you can simply wall off the area in which you're working. Problem solved.
