Hi,

Here's a simple hack to disable XP Orb drops on all mobs and players, just drop this file into minecraft_server.jar - http://dl.dropbox.co...8/Code/jj.class

When players die they can release a massive amount of XP Orbs, which will cause massive client-side lag for anyone near that location. Disabling the orbs fixes that.

Mind you, this only stops the dropping of orbs, so if you already have a lot of orbs on your map this won't make them go away.
So, a player in the 1.8 dev server (dev.minerealm.com) died and all the experience orbs dropped.
It cause a lot of lag, and the map gets restarted.

If you like/dislike the idea, vote yes/no in the pool.

I am only trying to help the server.

Sorry for the English, i am BR, but i didn't use any translators.

Hugs, - BioHuman.

I realized that I had forgotten to write that I fixed the exp orb bug in SMP. It was the first thing I did today!

That's basically the fix that jeb implemented, it just makes it look like theres alot more orbs, while actually being 1 thing.

There's no question this needs to be done, and preferably as soon as possible. The problem was most certainly not fixed by Jeb and, I'm not exactly sure why, but every time I die I seem to drop an exponentially larger amount of exp orbs than my previous death. It's now at the point where after I die anybody in the immediate area of my death will cause the entire server to lag. (I can demonstrate this at any time should you need proof. Simply contact me in game as a moderator or admin and I shall do so.)

If for some reason this isn't enough reason to disable them you could also take into consideration that right now THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There isn't even a reason to have them enabled, and you're not taking anything away from the game by disabling them, so please do so.

After being warned to leave the /trade area as you were lagging both trade and spawn, you remained there. Please if something like this happens again, for the sake of everyone listen to how everyone was asking you to leave and maybe abide by it to ensure that you don't create an inconvenience for others.

Not to mention, this causes an excruciating block lag for everyone else.

Also, the exp does has a small factor. I was told that for every level you go up, you mine .05 faster with a pickaxe. (Or something around that estimate).
