2nd. next one should be around 10k again

at one point poeple realy dont need that many frecken realms give the noobs a chance to not get greifed

Actually, we very specifically did NOT have the first realm be cheap, because the last version became cluttered with many small realms as a result of everyone being able to found one for free. Thus, I'd say this is almost certainly not going to happen. In fact, I would like to see the opposite: the first realm is crushingly expensive, then they start to drop in price, leveling off between 5 and 10k.

Personally, I'm a fan of the constant prices. If realm costs started add zero, think about what large groups could do. Take Terra Nova for example, say we have 15 members. We could each buy 2 realms at about 10k total. That's 30 realms that would cost about 150k, instead of the 300k it would normally cost. There are some groups with members in the 30s, that would mean 60 realms for them.

So essentially, your system would ensure what you want to prevent, it would just be harder for cities to expand.

You seem bitter. Perhaps because you're too lazy to work enough to get 10K to buy your first realm? Why is someone who owns 20 realms somehow stopping these "noobs" from getting their first realm?

The real reason why some larger groups think this is a good idea is because they have cleverly figured out the amazing money making scheme behind all of this!

Lets say if you had the "realm prices go down" example:

A large group buys 50+ realms (prices are now cheap)
and they sell a realm that they payed 5k for to a new user who has no realms for the wonderful price of 10k.

If the realm prices go down ideology was in effect. The large group may make a profit while the new user effectively pays a lower cost for the realm than what the server would sell.

This same example can be used for the "realm prices go up" ideology. You just have to tweak it a bit.

However, the simple answer to all of this is, it probably won't happen since there would be "competition" with server prices.

The current system was implemented to keep anyone from being able to get a realm. Realms are saved for the dedicated players, not the ones who can run into the wilderness and type a command.
