So I have noticed that a lot of the stores on the server are well, basically dead. To help out people that are new get materials much easier then shouting in chat this is my idea.With the new flat grass area we have in spawn, I suggest we use those plots to set up a trade district. Stalls in other words.

- Set up a sticky thread on the forums with the title "Stall purchase"
- With that stall, a person can set up signs, advertising what they are selling and the prices.
- Set a standard price for each stall, maybe even a weekly price to rent one out.

- Plots
- Each plot would be 8x8 at 5-6 blocks high.
- A standard design can be made or a custom design depending on the products being sold.

Pros:

- Items can be sold at a faster rate without having to search for hours.
- Credits will be moved more around the community instead of sitting with a person for long periods of
- More credits spread, the more the community can build and expand.
- Will give spawn a unique design for trading instead of small rooms that look like jail cells.
- A chance to get a steady price for each item.

Basically in the end this idea is to help everyone on the server. A chance for those who like to sell/help others obtain the items that they need. I feel that it is time for our community to trade more and I feel that this would help a lot, since all trades would have to be face to face as normal, and hope that it will make trades go much faster, not having to fight over prices, since there will be a lot of people the same items probably. Think of it this way, you don't like one person selling that item, you check and see if someone else is selling that same item for less.

Im not sure how this would work. If you'd have to stand at your shack all the time, that'd be pointless. But if they were to work like a chest shop, I'd say absolutely not. Would someone just message you what they're interested in?

Like I said, it would be a place to place your signs showing the items you are selling and the prices for them, also leaving your name of course (sure you could put your name on the front of the stall. Not everyone can afford a spawn realm and advertise their items, so this would allow them to.

Also, could this not work by of having a giant notice board? You can buy signs to put what you want on said board and scrap the entire stand idea? Just a thought.

I took that into account and no, it would not involve chests. Main point being that you already keep ur items most of the time at your /home and you'll probably want to use /trade anyway to make it safe, the main reason for this is to post signs showing your items for sale and the prices of those items, and also to give a bit of deign/use of the spawn.

The point is not just to "rent" a sign for posting, its to give a bit of design to the build, what would you rather see, a long board of signs in an empty field or an actually well plotted trade district, giving spawn a bit of design. think of this, Having a long board of signs give YOU a limited space, a 8x8 space would give you much more room to advertise your items.

Yes you have a semi valid point, we have the forums...Torn, do we play on the forums...no....do we build on the forums..no...thats great if you want to post stuff for sale on the forums, this is to get the INGAME community involved, and giving more design to spawn, instead of a open field with trees.

-More active player involvement in a focused area may be good for the overall health of spawn city.

Cons:
-Convenience would be hard to determine before implementing it, ie., it may be better or worse than just using /trade.
-Would probably require a large area near the spawn building to be cleared out to make room for it, which may present problems of effort invested, acquisition of the land by Intelli (I don't keep an up-to-date map of the ownership of every realm around spawn like apparently everybody else does), and whether it would ultimately be worth it.
-Having people keep shops together in a small area would very likely lead to more petty idiotic drama between players, as always.
-A building code (like the 5 to 6 blocks tall rule) would be broken like crazy by people who didn't read it or didn't care.

these stalls would be pre-built ahead of time, any blocks added above or around could be block log checked. The area around spawn would be more than enough room, plus it would give a lil competition to get a stall if they are limited and there can be a limit put on how long you can use the stall for, and then a time given until u can use it again.
