Hello!

Here's my opinion, realms are wonderful they prevent griefing and looting, allowing you to safely play the game we all enjoy to its fullest. The problem, i believe that there is a lack of importance in realms, many people don't purchase realms instead they build wherever they wish thus causing problems within the community due to the current rules in place to protect these players.

This is for several reasons:
- You can quite happily build wherever you want and you gain the same protection that a player that has purchased a realm has.
- You don't have to spend those all important credits in buying a realm which i feel is a big part of helping better the community with these credits being spent to alter/change spawn for the better. These things all cost credits and aid in creating an economy within mine-realm.
- By players not purchasing realms this causes problems for staff more frequently, which i feel is unnecessary and a waste of their time when there are other matters that are more important.

I personally believe that there is nothing wrong with coming across chests in the open, where realms haven't been claimed and being able to mine blocks or take things from the chests in these areas. The aim of this post is to allow this to be able to happen, I feel this would better mine-realm as it would reduce the number of punishments being dealt for something I believe isn't a well thought out rule where many solutions are available to rectify this situation.

I feel that there should be a drive towards getting players to purchase a realm. This i believe would reduce the pressure on staff, most importantly improve the community as a whole. There is however the contradiction to this where many people will disagree saying, its unfair as they need somewhere to start up, this i believe is important, these players always have the option to hide their chests/temporary home.

There are other solutions which I'd like to share:
- Setting up a beginner zone, this could mean a zone not far from spawn where these new players can place chests and from here have these chests locked and only accessible by them but this would only work in this beginner area.
- Another suggestion is having new players starting with 10,000 credits OR a form of token that is used ONLY to purchase ONE realm to allow these players to get started.

Another issue that i find is the rule of being unable to loot things from a previously purchased realm until two weeks AFTER you have purchased that realm, but furthermore if that person returns you MUST return their items to them regardless of the time scale. I believe that this a poor rule simply because it could end up leading to a ban for the person purchasing the realm, within purchasing the realm the idea would be that you now own everything in and on that realm. This further neglects the point in purchasing a realm.

TL:DR

Should new beginners be allowed a starter realm in the form of a token or credits and looting be allowed on unclaimed/unpurchased realms.

This is NOT a thread from personal experience, it is more of a concern I have and something that i think should be altered to help better the community and everyone's experience of the server.

I think that any new player that joins gets a 30-day protection zone in which there cheats auto-lock and blocks auto-lock as well. To follow that up I think looting should be LEGAL. People who can't get 10k in 30 days aren't very active.

Then that realm will disband in 30 days, same as usual?

I agree with this idea, but thirty days is too long. 2-3 weeks is probably better. Also, once the player buys a realm, their protection zone should be auto-disabled.

Looting, legal?

Even if yes won, I have the feeling that Intelli would use his veto powers.

I think we need to make sure the new people who join know that staff gets chest logs and will know someone's looting and ban them. That's what stops looting usually, and placing a sign that says GET OUT THIS PLACE IS NOT ABANDONED.

Why don't they just read the rules?

I think this idea has merit, and the intention is good at its core. The suggestion(s) proposed, however, is way to complex for a single, simple, yes or no answer.

I'm sorry, I agree with several points you have made, but can't vote for this as proposed.
