Enable placement without ignition?

Yes, this would be helpful

No, this would be a bad idea

So I've been going through my chests recently and I notice tnt is rather rare and has a cool look to it. So my suggestion is, allow people to place tnt but NOT allow anyone to ignite it. This would be nice since tnt can be a decoration block, and it could bring up the value of tnt.
Pros
Decorations
New Market item
Better use for it
Cons
Honestly considering it can't be lite, I done see any.

As long as no further coding is required, I'm all for it.

I was literally thinking of making a poll about this very idea. So yes, I like this idea.

As an alternative approach, make it so that it's nerfed--like creepers, it can explode, but the explosion does no damage to blocks. Since this has already been implemented for creepers, it should be fairly straightforward to code.

Great idea,
There would be a small change to the code (unless he has a toggle command feature), the change would be to delete the existing code Intelli has created that disallows you to place the block and leave the Onexplode event code in he probably already has. ( the reason he probably already had it is that there could have been tnt already implemented on the map before he embedded the code, so he added it as a precaution.)

Really a 2 second job in my opinion and a great new block. Good idea OneMan.

Personally, I would like to be able to dig with TNT and not just to use it for decoration. Unfortunately the only way to make that possible without people trying to lag the server would require coding on Intelli's part. Oh well, a man can still dream...

Restrictions similar to redstone? Usable only on private realms, and using it in a way that seems intended to generate lag would be bannable.

Actually with me thinking about it, You would be able to control how many exploding events take place in an area before you can manually stop them from proceeding. Meaning you could "dig" with TNT and it not lag and also people can't abuse the system. Although, I believe Intelli has prevented TNT for other reasons than just Lag abuse.
A) If a TNT is placed on the edge of an owned realm, if the item explodes it will effect the land of a private realm beside it, I'm not amazing with coding but I don't think he could stop damage done in specific parts of an area and not in others. If he could.. I know it would be a lot of work.

B) TNT destroys ores, plain and simple.. the land is restricted and the ores in the land are consequently limited, If they can destroy land then Ores are going to waist without you realizing or having a say. (Providing 2 TNT's go of at the same time.) I know that you are obviously allowed to burn the items if you wish but most people don't burn ores.

Hope that helps to why I feel Intelli hasn't bothered with TNT.

I could set up a tnt cannon on my realms near the border and blow up spawn. That won't ever happen. Remember this suggestion is for just being able to place it. Uf you want to ignite it, feel free to create your own suggestion :P
