What other solution can there be if the person doesn't end it? Let players go on and be unhappy that they have to give up an enjoyable part of their game? I, personally, cannot stand for that.

Actually my post caused him to reach out to me and I'm feeling much better about that aspect of things :)
Doesn't change my overall view on this though. I'd much rather see pvp have to be consented to by all parties. And.... I want Wither fights to be a challenge!

were not asking it to be removed. just to make it optional. so both parties agree to actually fight each other.

Technically if spawn camping seems to be the problem, couldn't we just (if the programming isn't too hard) give you about 30 seconds of invulnerability + inability to hit others so you have a chance to run? This would also stop the people who complain about getting killed before the nether had fully loaded.

Nether, the dangerous place where its hell. flying ghosts shot you withers poison you and enemies hunt you. Scratch that come to hold your hand and make it easier to travel the nether

And if you remember, which you probably wernt even here, nether pvp used to be one of, if not the biggest part of minerealm. Arcane vs NTC and imperial. Agentred has videos of it on his channel, which is how I found minerealm. Such a tradition cant be stopped

Are you sure you played on the same MineRealm I do?
Nether is set to easy and you see maybe one Ghast per week if you're lucky, most of which can't hit you due to the massive amount of mess the Quartz rush left, and can be killed by one arrow!

The only PvP (if you can even call it that) I have encountered in my 10 months of playing was during quartz, and that was a bunch of cowards running around in groups hunting people down....that's not pvp......

To be honest the entire nether NEEDS a wipe, it's worse than the overworld just in a smaller area.

So basically having pvp disabled for 30 secs at first? ... that is actually a very sound suggestion.
EDIT: What about leaving? Will that remain as a challenge?

I hate pvp for the very reasons stated above. I dont come on MR to get frustrated and make enemies. MR is my refuge from all that drama and anger that is all associated with PVP in any game, but its 10 times worse because the stuff you lose you created yourself and it took time and effort to make, and you lose it all in the blink of an eye to someone else who goes after you just because they can. I'd much rather lose it to circumstances out of my hands cause I fell in lava or became overrun by mobs you cant start an argument with lava for killing you. Thats why I hate argumentation in MC. I always come back to MR after a few hours of TF2 every night and thats drama I'd love to just leave at the threshold when I enter MR. Thats why I avoid pvp like the plague. If it was to be made optional for the nether there would far fewer regulars getting banned/permabanned because of non-consensual PVP related disputes. There would still be arguments over PVP for sure, but I doubt there would be nearly as many as there have been in the past.

I may not be involved in the PVP realm but I have witnessed far too many nasty arguments/ messy ban requests and appeals between regulars and nubs alike. I can appreciate how there are a fair few regulars that want PVP to be auto enabled in places like the nether because its suppose to be chaos. But like the overworld state of PVP there are few who actually want to fight each other these days. I, in my early days remember the clan battles that MR had, but for the most part PVP is dead. The reason you dont see clan battles like that anymore is because people's behaviors are changing. People work very hard for XP levels, armor, weapons, that they take into the nether to harvest its resources (quartz scanning, wither skelly farming) they dont want to lose it all hence what starts arguments/makes enemies/forces bans and whats keeps many others away from the nether altogether.

Overall MR has progressed to a stage where the general population is quite well to do, people have the resources to build magnificent things and they work hard to do so everyday and PVP has become one of those things thats a vague memory of their firsts days/weeks on the server where they didnt have much to lose and they had no particular focus. In the modern day of MR people are busy working on their projects, because Minecraft after all, is a game about building, and for our purposes also survival from the forces of nature of the game. There are a lot of us who wish those forces were not fellow players, and justly so because it just creates unneeded conflict that separates the community. And I say for those seeking conflict, enable PVP to fight others who want conflict. Dont force the rest of us to put up with it.
