I don't like nether pvp because no one goes in and it's just plain boring. There is no scenery, only grief and lag producing lava. It think minerealm needs to make a warp to a arena somewhere on the map, where there can actually be cool scenery ect.

That's what PVP servers are for. If you want an arena, make one, there's no need for staff to get involved.

I agree dlgn, which is why I didn't bring it up in the op. I understand that the player using invisibility to hunt my favorite Nether area is playing within the current rules and I know that I'm not going to alter my play style to become a pvper, so I've accepted that I will give up a part of the game that I really enjoy.

Having said that, I stand by my op. I want the Nether to be challenging, but in a way that has a lot less chance of causing hard feelings among players. This is an incident that has bothered me personally, but time after time I've witnessed non-censensual pvp causing problems/arguments amongst others on the server. I had hoped that I might help find a solution that would make the server more fun for more players (myself included).

I know this isn't going to pass. It needs 70% approval and then Intelli would likely check for votes by alts because it would be such a close vote. I'm ok with that. A year ago I doubt it would have had this many positive votes and I doubt we'd have that this much civil discussion on the topic. I respect everyone's opinions and their right to enjoy the game the way they want.

As an ex-camper, albeit one who didn't attack noobs without provocation, as well as someone who has lost probably hundreds of thousands of credits worth of gear to Nether PVPers, no way to the PVP part of the suggestion. The Nether's main challenge is PVPers, and there are few enough players in the Nether that you usually won't encounter them except at spawn, and they're easily slipped past with an invisibility potion, with items in an Ender Chest as a precaution. This single incident, while unfortunate, isn't really significant enough to warrant such a drastic solution.

Where not removing pvp just making it optional. If anything you'll still have "The End" and the "wilderness" for all your pvp needs. The nether could serve more of a purpose then to just go around and ruining someone's day. You probably find thrill and excitement in killing someone in the nether that didn't provoke you any way to want to initiate a fight with you in the first place. Again you are very well in your right to do that but at the same time your creating hatred towards yourself and your friends by having other avoid you and having conflict among friends. Why build more tension and drama? Just so you can have a higher pvp rank?

Maybe if there was "wilderness" portal people wouldnt think losing the nether pvp would be such a lost.

Anyways, The End and The wilderness seems more like fair grounds for people to want to fight at. Both start with nothing and if you win against another person you have just a bit more to survive in the wilderness lol.

My opinion is different than yours when it comes to the nether. It can be disable/Enable just like in the overworld. It wouldn't make it anymore less legit to disable it and make it optional. If "they" enter the nether it could also be for gathering materials, getting to one's area etc.

And not everything i wrote was meant to be towards you (sorry again) but others as well.

You really didn't have to do this. I'm sure if you asked that person, they may make an exception for you. If they don't, well, call a friend that can PVP, and it should solve it.
