I know the vanilla server would be fun, but I agree with some people. Why take away the good players from our thriving community? Without them, the noobs will take the lead foothold and those stuck outside the doors of the vanilla server, pounding so hard their fists bleed and screaming for the mercy of being let in.
Again, not trying to be mister Minerealm Priority Accountant but, there are so many things that the money going to vanilla could be put to use for in current survival!!!
Donations are pretty scarce now-a-days. If you live in the U.S.A. you almost definitely feel the pressure of the current financial situation we are in right now. I am 12 and I feel it.
I want to donate, but I have to use my dad's paypal, and he won't let me. So I say this fellow members of Minerealm:
Let us use our current amount of money wisely and invest in something for everyone. I am not sure what parts of the computer really need to be expanded (memory wise) to decease lag, but that would be something to consider. With all these new players, the system is getting pretty laggy at times during the day when it is most favorable to play, such as right after most people get home from work/school. Investing in less lag would mean more players on at one time, all enjoying a smooth experience.
That in itself ultimately means less complaining about lag for the newcomers! It also helps us get along without sitting at the computer for 20 minutes waiting for a block to break. Yes, that is a bit of an exaggeration but you get my point.
So instead of buying into another server, where only select players (most of whom I have seen on this thread aren't donors) can play, would ultimately be worthless. That's is one more payment to make for a 24/7 server that may only house 20 people at a time.
From my point of view, and possibly others, investing in a new server wouldn't be a good use of the money we currently have available to be invested into the survival server. Now, I have no clue if we even have some, if anything, invested in survival right now (to decrease lag, etc, etc.) but in my honest opinion, we should put some money away into each of our two servers.
Now, if we really want this vanilla server, here is a radical idea. Get rid of creative.
Now, before we all start screaming our heads off, just listen. I see about 2 people at most on the creative server, in about a week. What good is it doing to us, just sitting there? The answer is, it isn't. We could ultimately replace the creative server with this vanilla server, but you would get an uproar of disapproval, I can see it now.
Now, I am not really one to be talking about money, but I have grown up in these times too ya' know. I have gone through the ups and downs just like everyone else. I may be 12, but I am wise enough to know that throwing money out the window for a small part of a group, won't work.
I don't know about Intelli, but for me money is tight, and paying for another server right now (if I were in Intelli's shoes, supposing that we were both at the same financial level, which is confidential and whatnot so, lets not go into that) would be madness. So either ditch the idea and invest in survival, our most populated server by far, even during the last days of 2.0, where loads of people crowded the streets of creative, or we take away creative and replace it with the vanilla.
Those are the easiest ideas that I can see. Maybe, maybe not. I guess its all up to Intelli.
