Arguments FOR this idea.
-The amount is small, 25 credits per vote, and with a cap of 100 per day. There is literally no way to make money off this. It is not game breaking in this way.
-Credits are not part of vanilla MC, so arguments saying this is not legitamate are invalid.
-Is an incentive to vote, which promotes the server.
-Would provide new players with a bit of cash to get them on their feet, without breaking the system.

Arguments AGAINST this idea.
-You are being paid to vote. This means that how much the server is actually "liked" on these sites is suspect.
-New systems are glitchy. There was a credits glitch that allowed one to give away more than they had at one point. It is possible this will have an issue with how much you get, or the cap itself, potentially breaking the economy.
-Every credit currently in circulation can be traced back to a broken/placed block. This means that as far as the credit system goes, this is NOT legit, and therefore not in line with Intelli's goal of a largely Vanilla, Non-Whitelisted, Legitamate Survival Server.
-Requires that Staff/Intelli do the work for it to be implemented. This is usually an automatic death sentence for any suggestion.
-Alt accounts can be used to exploit the voting limit.
-Determined, long-term griefers can gain trust, abuse alts, and amass TONS of credits that they could then inject into the economy. It would require little work to pull off, and is a very real possibility.

My conclusion? The few concrete benefits are outwieghed by the concrete negatives, and the potential benefits are outweighed by the potential negative effects, which are devastating IMO. I say no. -1.

I feel like the terms 'legit' and 'chocolatey' get abused quite frequently around here. Credits aren't a part of vanilla Minecraft. They can be awarded however Intelli sees fit without the 'legitimacy' of the server being affected in any way.

Personally, I'd support this because it seems like a pretty good way to raise awareness of our server without having any real negative impacts. At a maximum of 100 credits per day being made off of this, it's enough to provide an incentive, but not enough to undermine the value of actual labor. As long as players don't receive obnoxious messages telling them to vote up the server while they're online, I'm definitely in support of this.

And it does not have this.
It would be a simple sticky thread on the forums.

Meh. Nah. Nevah.
The fact that every credit in circulation comes from the breaking or placing a block, an essential of Minecraft, has always and never will cease to amaze me, and having free stuff for boosting the server up is just ending both Minerealm's economy's legit awesomeness and it's purely dedicated, not bribed, community. You donate if you LIKE the server. You vote if you LIKE the server. That is something just not worth giving up for Minerealm's redemption in votes, when there are numerous ways to do that.

Besides, haxors could make tons of cash with this.

I hate to burst your bubbles guys, but not every credit can be traced to break/placing a block, there was a short period of time where Intelli was awarding credits, in random amounts, to those who welcomed players to the server for the first time. :)
i don't think this idea should be accepted for the simple reason it invalidates any ranking we may have on voting sites as voters are then biased

I remeber Intelli giving over 300k in credits for the lottery.
Again, what about legit credits? ;)

why get credits for promoting minerealm? Getting credits should be in-game via mining and placing blocks, or by making trade. Though promoting minerealm should only increase your rep.

This.

REP.

I like the idea of it increasing your rep. Like maybe .0005 rep per vote :P or a small fraction with a cap at like 2 or something. Idk I'm not good with calculations or anything.

I do not however agree on paying us for voting. I donate and vote because I like this server and I want it to be successful. If everyone got payed to vote then it could potentially scare away some serious future members of our society. (Subject discussed before about popular servers getting turned down because of obvious vote rewarding.)

Also yeah some of us racked up quite a bit of creds during the "Greet people for 10 creds" craze that lasted for about what, a week and a half? (good memories of 20 people all saying Hello <enter name here> just for credits :P) Also the lottery put a huge amount in although I think the person who won doesn't play anymore anyways... soo yeah.

In short possibly rep, but not creds. Keep it simple people.
