I was raised knowing that it's a swear word, so other new players may, too. Keep as is.

I say keep it and use Dagnabbit instead. That way everyone can sound like my grandfather.

If you remove that word from the filter, then players may be more confused on what they may say and not say. If a new player comes to the server and is allowed to say that word, they may think that it is allowed to use any profane words. It creates confusion and doesn't really make sense to take it off the filter.

Also, as far as I know, Helpbot catches other words that are not necessarily swear words; however, they are profane even if the degree is lesser than the word in question now. Again, it doesn't really make much sense to remove it from the filter when there are less offensive words that are still being blocked.

I said keep it, though I honestly don't care that much. It's just that it seems unnecessary to remove words from the filter--if your character falls in lava and dies, then shouting profanities out loud is a perfectly understandable instinctive response... but typing it into the game's chat bar and sending the message can't really be chalked up to an impulse.

It is a swear word the way I see it, thought it would take a truly soft person to be offended by hearing it.

This is true, but also remember that the server is intended to be all-ages--keeping the chat box appropriate for the young'uns is setting the bar a bit higher than simply keeping "offensive" words out of it.

If anyone here has a dictionary, They would know that Damn is in it. remove it.

Presence in a dictionary is not exactly proof something is not a swear word, seeing as basically all swear words are in dictionaries.

No they aren't, but bastard only means "a child born without married parents" and damn only means "condemn to hell" not much of a swear word if you don't believe in hell or heaven. Yes take it off
the swear filter.

"damn" is a swear and therefore the filter will count it as a swear. keep it.

I have had my fair share of pinnings by help bot for it, but now i rarely use it as help bot has taught me better <3
Basically, just learn not to say it or if you think that you really need to, then revert to something that isn't on the swear list, like others have already stated.
