I don't understand this statement. If I was a new player, and I happened to overhear that glowstone sells for quite a penny, then I would take any chance to be added to a realm to make quick credits in the nether. The first "need" I felt when I was a new player was to get my own realm as soon as possible.

Otherwise, I agree with you completely that we should be required to purchase a realm ourselves before going to the nether.

Nobody "needs" to go to the Nether. It's a place for convenience and luxury to be acquired, and even then, those willing to work harder can simply PURCHASE their luxuries.

I like this. But the previously mentioned requirement (reaching a certain experience level) to enter the nether is still in effect, right? The more anti-greifing measures, the merrier.

I'm assuming no.

I still think you should have to own a realm. Going to the nether without a realm could have only two purposes griefing, and pvp. You can do PVP in the overworld, and we don't want greifers in the nether.

I don't like this. A lot of the noobs on the server come in and say "where do i pvp i lik pvpin". If they want to go to the nether, they should be able to, notch would have made it harder if he wanted it to be harder.

That's the thing, you could easily promise another player some of the profits if they added you to their realm. Also, glowstone is all mined up from the reachable areas in the nether. Even if it is extended or reset, trying to get a 'pretty penny' is a get rich quick scheme. It might work, but they players have no real initiative to stay with minerealm other than to spend their credits. If they have gotten 10k credits, it shows enough dedication to the server for them to go to the nether and not screw our economy.

*Calls friends* "Hey, log onto minerealm with me guys and mine all the glowstone you can see. I'll add you to my realm. In exchange, I'll buy us drinks this friday night."

That could easily happen as well, and will provide unfair wealth to certain players.

I don't get why it is such a big deal that you need to be part of a realm or own one to go inside..

I don't own one or am part of one, but I still go into the nether to PVP after mining for a long time..

Exactly. My roommates like both minecraft and beer. And we especially like playing games for beer.

YES!! Thanks for this proposal, Intelli! I like this way better that the experience and level thing as a requirement for the nether. Being member of a realm is barrier that keeps away random people who stay on the server short and only grief. It is however a barrier everybody who takes minerealm a little bit seriously can easily overcome, which is good!

This way I can continue inviting more friends to minecraft and use the nether road to get them to my remote realm quickly. I just need to add them to my realm. Thanks, very good idea!
