Don't get me wrong, trading is how I get by here. And I agree, wooden doors are great for simplicity, but, when people keep walking in on trades and snatching the goods, it really does get highly annoying.

I'm just trying to think of a way to eliminate disruptions during trades.

The way you put it there just makes it harder for everyone though. So the traders trade safely then some ****** *** comes in with some friends and just sits in the stalls. Then there is a problem that the traders can't trade. I liked free trade. It was better.

While it would solve the problem (and I do kind of like the idea), it also raises new ones (as have been mentioned already). It's much easier for us to just kick/ban people interfering than it is to get into the room to open a door that has been left closed.

Also, while Trade is easier for everyone to get to, you always have the option to conduct trades in other secure locations.

I could set it up so that when a player locks the door, there are pressure plates covering the floor (all wired together will act like one big pressure plate as far as signal goes), when no plates are being stood upon for more than a second or 2 (lag compensation, very important) the door is opened. the lock button and floor plates each go to falling edge triggers (the plates have to be activated and then deactivated to send a signal) the signal from the button will go to the latch input, and the floor plates go to the un-latch input, the output of the RS NOR goes to the iron door.

How about a system with AND gates and stone pressure pads, where the doors only close if 2 people are in the room and each standing on 1 pressure plate?

u guys are going way overboard with this shet... make 2 dbl iron doors and put a pressure plate in front of the one open. stand on that pressure plate to close the door and keep it closed while ur dropping the stuff. :o

I honestly think trade should be done this way.

Have completely encapsulated rooms.
do /trade <player>
Player agrees by /yes
tp's both players to a confined room. Do trade. Finish and both players tp back with /trade.

EDIT: I guess there could be some problem with coding. Rooms would have to have a label ie: by number. And have a status of either occupied or vacant.

Good idea and it would be awesome if it could happen but I would imagine it would be very complicated to do...

I don't know how complicated it would be.
It would have to check whether players are still currently in trade or not for the rooms to become available. Which isn't too hard except for the fact that if a player logs off in the trade, then either the room is permanently locked or the room becomes available which is bad because the player would spawn in the trade room (possibly interrupting a new trade). Alternatively, if logging off, the player could spawn in the last location before typing /trade.

In all, I think the solution is do-able and would be beneficial; however, it is time-consuming and at with a small community, it isn't more time-productive than to have a moderator or admin review a bad trading process.
