For those of you who don't know, if you have your items stored in chests on public land, you're at great risk of the items being stolen even if the chests are hidden. That's why this needs to be implemented.
The argument "it removes the motive to buy a realm" is invalid here because there should be no looting of chests in the first place. Besides, there is still plenty of motive to buy a realm and this suggestion adds an additional one, ability to place lava/fire.
