to publicly humilate someone is to do the exact oppisite of this rule and would be considered by many as bullying and harassing.

They're not really players anymore--more like prisoners. That said, the small entertainment value to be derived from this suggestion wouldn't be worth (1) the time and effort required by Intelli to code this and ensure they can't escape/exploit, (2) the spot on the server, or (3) the potential drama caused by having some of the more divisive banned players sticking around in a way.

It's no different than having your teacher make you stand outside of the classroom for all walkerbys to see, knowing that you are a trouble maker. It's not harassment, it's shaming someone into not doing it again. Personally i liked standing in the hallway in elementary school.. My old 3rd grade teacher gave me a cookie cause she knows id do it just to read mah book.. Ahhs great times, great times..
Anyways, if they continued because they LIKED to in there, a ban would be needed. I tink maybe for the suggestion of a jail, there should be a separate command, not allowing banned players on, but maybe make jail a middle man.. For those breaking rules to be put into as a warning, and those who have been given a unban date, seeing as they will be let on, but you know, are still in trouble. Not to mention the hilarity that would ensue.. Megusta.. Megastar mucho.

On one server, I saw that they had a little cage with an cpu controlled notch that would run around in circles and do random things. Maybe we could do something like that?

Again. Intelli has to code this. I don't see the point in having a notch running around...

^This, exactly.^

Besides, we already have the appeal threads, where people argue, and post gibberish half the time anyways. It's like a prison with funny pictures, and it doubles as something legitamately useful as well, a place where appeals can be rejected/accepted.

The only thing the prison would do is give people who should be banned the option to spam, rage, and generaly continue to make fools of themselves.

Players who plan to get out of the "jail" would just be quiet, and are usually able to be handled with a simple warning, making putting them in a jail pointless... and it'd be one more thing the Staff had to sort out, and it isn't like they need that.

Reasons for it:
-Humiliate complete idiots
-They have generally given up their right to any kind of respect
-Lulz-based purposes

Reasons against it:
-Serves little to no practical purpose
-Even if muted, banned players could still use vulgar skins
-Lots of banned players are already idolized, keeping troublemakers around on display would further encourage glorification of them

Ultimately, I'm against it.
