Adding people to your realm is fun, but I'd like more control.
And so, I'd like to be able to divide an existing realm into sub realms.

Once you create and name a sub realm, it can be controlled exactly the same way as a normal realm would be.
normal realm: /realm [function]
sub realm: /realm.subrealmname [function]

You could do things like add members, set motd, etc.

But how to create a sub realm?
You define the outer corners of the rectangle, then the height and depth. Here is a hypothetical example. The function names would probably change.
You walk to one spot in your realm, and type a function to begin. ex: /realm newsubrealm NAME
You stand in one corner of your imagined rectangle, and type /realm.NAME corner
You walk to the opposite corner of your imagined rectangle, and type /realm.NAME corner
You type /realm.NAME height [number]
You type /realm.NAME depth [number]
You type /realm.NAME test to enter test mode. Walk in and out of your subrealm, getting a message so you know where it is. If you are happy, you finalize it with another function. BAM. You are now done

Should sub realms cost rc to make?
Should there be a limit to the number of sub realms?

Another idea for sub realms would be to create privacy levels.
/realm.subrealmname privacy [number]
Privacy levels could range from anyone can do anything to only open/ close chests to nothing.
Privacy could apply to the general public, or all members added to any sub realm of the master realm.
So you could do things like make a community build area, a community chest, or a public chest, or a trade area, etc etc..

Another idea for sub realms would be to create user levels
As suggested before by many people. You could let players be "masters of their own subrealm", and let them be able to add and remove other players, but only to their sub realm. Would be great for renting apartments close to spawn, etc.

Another, slightly more crazy idea would be...
Allow "subscriptions/ contract" as a payment option, and tie sub realm membership into it. Basically, someone can agree to pay you automatically 100rc per week to use a sub realm in your realm. If they cancel the "subscription/ contract", their rights are automatically removed.
So OK, monopoly inspired this part of the suggestion...
If you really wanna make it awesome... Allow players to set their sub realms for rental. Any player who walks into the realm can type /rent (if you allowed it to be), and can chose to rent the property from you or not, having seen the settings you put for the rental. Settings could be if you can boot them out or not, etc etc... Upon renting it, payments are automatically sent to you until either they cancel or you kick them out (would have to balance this option out).

Thoughts?

EDIT: Why? Because having sub realms would allow you much finer control of your realm. You can have public parts, you can have multiple members on your realm, yet each of them would have a private part of it, etc.

Even though this would be hells of useful, the complexity of it would both be skull-liquefyingly hard to code and overwhelm a lot of players trying to use it. Not to mention the extra strain it'd put on the server, having to keep track of huge numbers of variable spaces instead of just the simple 50x50 plots.
Even though this is a well thought out idea I'm going to say no to it. Simply because it would cause a ton of lag.
