I've thought about this myself and proposed these very same idea too Intelli before, however it goes against our legit server policy. It would be mega awesome, super handy, and probably not a big downside for the economy however it will not likely ever become true.

Time we had a policy change then.

you're not exactly right about the chests of minecarts....

i have a chest full of minecarts, as well as two dispensers ( for the roller coaster )
i check them most every day and refill them... i have no other use for all the iron i get mining.
and i will give one to a new player when i am able, other's do this also. we have a friendly and helpful bunch here. let's try to make a point to help them out when we can.

does minecarts still dissapears after a while when they are unused? if not you could just make a big minecart dispenser at spawn and make an sort of lock on it so you only can push the button one time and it resets then the minecart went over an detector rail or something like that.

So noobs take all 9 carts...and we can't spawn minecarts...can anyone say "genius"?

of course we make it impossible to them to break the minecarts by some sort of plugin

Honestly, if I joined myself and had a mine cart spawned into my inv or something like that it would feel fake. I'd much rather just walk myself.

Honestly even if new players get a minecraft they will still whine about everything.
