I will admit, the plane mod is amazing. But its often not updated for a few days past each of notch's updates. Do you really want to have the server down for 2-3 days after every update while the plane mod guy updates his mod?

Once notch has a real mod api it might be worth looking at some of the nicer mods, but i doubt we are going to get anything that changes the feel of minecraft in much of any way, and considering Intelli writes most of his own code i suspect the only mods we are going to get are things Intelli writes himself.

Hmmm.... Instead of mod, we could just stick a minecart on one heck of a booster tark and lanch them...?

I'm going to put my vote on this idea instead. technicly you could have short distance airports.

Even though having the mod would be usefull it would also create more lag.
