Most people who really use irc are probably already as involved in as many different servers/rooms as they want to be. I live on irc but i know for sure that unless the room goes up on of the servers i am on, i won't bother with it.

A more simple and feasible cross-communication system (IRC) would be much more handy in the long-run IMP based on my past experience for those who want to discuss certain topics that can't be on with other at the same time, etc. This would be a huge advancement especially because the community is so large and IRC is so popular. Info could spread in a fraction of the occasional time-frame. +1 for thisssssss

Actually just no. Choosing an IRC server that's popular would be efficient. To my understanding the most popular are Quakenet and Ircnet. Plus any of the servers is easy to setup and use, you give the address, you login, you type, you chat.
