Alright, so I'm not even sure if this is acceptable or not, but I'm going to give it a shot and you can all tell me what you think.

So I just purchased a few realms relatively close to spawn (x125, z325) and (x175, z325). I'm trying to think of what I'd like to do with them, and I thought I'd like to host a game if it's okay Just for fun!

Basically, it would be this: two teams with three people on each team. Each team gets one realm and will proceed to build the most fantastic structure they can in 30min (maybe longer). A team is allowed to grieve the other team and tear down their structure. Teams will bring their own blocks and also can use the blocks on the landscape or blocks stolen from the other team's structures. PVP should be enabled at all times. The team with best standing structure at the end of the time limit wins!

Things to note: Users will have to bring their own blocks or use the landscape. (I can try to provide wood, stone, and dirt, and make it fair for both sides). The use of lava, fire, and water can be decided by you guys. At the end of the game, the team keeps the blocks on their individual sides so be careful!

Other: I'm thinking maybe we need five judges (I will not be one), and of course six participants. Contest is open to whoever wants to do it..depends if you guys like this or not. I'll have some kind of prize maybe like 500rc per player for the winning team or something more and bragging rights

So, players would have to agree to some specific terms obviously, like keeping pvp enabled for those 30min and only attacking each other within the specified realms.

Well, you guys can tell me what you think. If it sounds fun, then lets go for it, if not then forget it. any comments or suggestions are welcome

This may sound fun, but there are a couple of reasons why this is a bad idea. The first, very obviously is that griefing is not allowed on the server, and I've never seen any exceptions (tell me if anyone has). Second, if there was an exception for this, it might tempt griefers who were not making trouble into griefing.

You might want to prep the realms with a low wall, to prevent liquids from messing up the neighbors.

sounds cool, but the fact that people can bring their own block might be a problem. People might decide to hoard obsidian making it hard for their structure to fall.

These are really good points, and I can see why it would be an issue. Definitely wouldn't want to promote griefing here.

Yes, it would have to be set up like a stadium so that walls would prevent liquids. Agreed.

Also, didn't think about obsidian. It's easy to exclude it if I made rules, but I can see that it would create problems.


Overall, it could be fun but due to the grieving problem...and now to think about it, I've heard talk about a lot of griefing recently, so probably shouldn't allow this. Anyways, thanks for giving me feedback!

and the greifing thing should be aloud because its not truly griefing its just part of the game call it destroying the objective and not greifing and its ok
