1) Is there any way you can make the map on the main page the full 10,000x10,000? I suppose it would be a large file, but it couldn't be all that bad. You could even split it up into 4 or 9 different files... I just mean it's not like the maps' getting any bigger - it seems like you could let us see a map of the whole thing.

2) Is there any way you can put out another map along with it with an overlay to show who owns each realm or just the unclaimed realms?

3) 1250x1250 is a bit small. Nether is quite stripped bare. Is it possible to modify it slightly so maybe it's not a 1/8, but 1/6 or 1/4 of the original world? Or reset it occasionally? Or make glowstone slowly grow randomly over time in Nether? I'm honestly not sure what the resolution is here.

May I ask why the survival map only shows to a certain distance, and not the WHOLE map? Also I don't like the idea of a full map, people want their privacy, which is why they walked until they were out of range of the overmap.

I definitely think #1 would be nice, maybe 2. Splitting the file makes it load faster for some computers. Also then the buildings far away from the center wouldn't be the first things people see when they open the central map.

Glowstone is supposed to be finite in Minecraft.

I would love this. I was sort of disappointed to learn that my realms didn't appear on the map. Only problem is, it would probably increase lag at around the time that the map is saved... if it's only done once per day (or changed to be only once or twice per week) that issue would be minimal, though.

I think I read somewhere that there used to be a system like that, but it was scrapped due to the lag it caused. I really like the idea, but my understanding is that it isn't feasible due to the effect on lag.

I'm sure it's possible to mod the nether to make it larger than 1/8 of the original world. But, there are a few problems with that. First and foremost, Intelli doesn't seem to like mods. Secondly, it would probably disrupt existing portal connections... not sure how serious of a problem that would be, though. Thirdly, after the initial gold rush to get the new glowstone supplies, there would be even less incentive for anyone to go to the nether. Since there are no realms / protections for buildings, there's no reason to build there, and it's really only useful for faster transport to other parts of the overworld; scaling up the size of the nether would reduce the efficiency of this faster transport and possibly make it not worth the risk of going there.

Also, as has already been pointed out, there are lots of players who are glad glowstone is a scarce resource. Someone who's able to put glowstone in their buildings is either rich enough to afford it, or has been on the server long enough to have been one of the first miners in the nether; in either case, it's value would be lost if it were a renewable resource, so the public backlash against such a change would be... substantial.

In short: I love ideas #1 and #2, though I'm not sure if #2 is realistic, and no no no to #3.
