One way to get the best of both methods would be to have the realms continue to disband one at a time, but not have a text notification every time. Notifying players would require only a single message, e.g. "Realms owned by _____ have been disbanded." after the disbanding finishes, or alternatively "Realms owned by _____ are now disbanding." after the first realm goes.

I would say combine both.
"Realms owned by X are disbanding."
Chat goes here- How many realms do you think? Looting is bad, etc.
"Realms owned by X have disbanded."

As to the order in which they disband, I would imagine it's the order in which they were purchased, just going down the /realm list.

I agree to both this solution, and the one with just "All realms by ______ have been disbanded".
You were talking before about vultures being able to see how many realm a person have the gets disbanded. Well, with Aelcalans' suggestion they'd still be sorta able to. The longer it takes before the second text pops up, the more realms were disbanded.
I'm just saying that people would still have an idea about how many were disbanded.

Ultimately I would like "All realms by ______ have been disbanded" better.

I support the idea for your explained reason, and also, if it doesn't show how much realms have been disbanded by a person, people are less like to freak out about it.
