The idea is not without merit, but I think it might cause problems for the subways.

So this is about public land that has been built on? If so then pardon my misunderstanding with the previous post I made. though I still vote no. why? Pretty much cause there are probly many others like me who is trying to earn credits to buy off there realms to protect them agasint greifers. However it may not take long for them to do that, for some like me it is taking a while to do it since I have a job. Don't want my hard work to be for nothing when the two realms I plan on buying to protect, just suddenly reset themselves due to my lack of paying attention to minerealm and not working my rear off to buy off those said realms to protect.

@McFatty
If you are unable to purchase a realm you worked on after 6 months (and you also made absolutely no changes in 6 months) you are doing something very wrong. 6 months is such a long time that nobody would ever run into the problem you describe.

I think it's a pretty good idea and would fix all the abandoned shacks spread across the map. However, 6 months is so long that it is unlikely that nobody would change a block in that time, you might want to make the reset time shorter.

The only other issue is how do you check it? You'd have to either go through every single block in every public realm (not really doable) or keep a record of when the last time was that someone changed a block for every realm (update every time someone places/breaks a block in a public realm).

But what about after 6 months, Realms with no activity on them get reset to there natural state?

What does everyone think?

The idea ain't vanilla at all. Its along the lines of map wipe/resetting. But more of an area wipe/reset. Which Intelli stated a while back "there will be no map wipes or resetting of any sort of the current map"

No nothing ain't wrong at all. Unless you think not having minerealm take up the majority of my life a problem. Then you surely are mistaken. Also how do you know I made any changes to my two realms that I am working on buying?

This is well thought out idea, however not a good one, in my opinion. Previous comments have pointed out most of the issues, except one. Somewhere in the forums (challenge: find it!) Intelli wrote something to the effect of "you can play on clean maps in single player. What defines us is that we are a built up server". Also, think about this, is a realm is reset, then rare items (diamond, gold, dungeons etc.) are also reset, effectively spawning in more material and rendering the server less vanilla.
