You all know what Minecraft is. You play it, after all. But did you know that you are actually playing the Survival Mode? And did you know that that's not the only mode planned? Yes folks, we can expect more! Some of you may remember Creative Mode (which is no longer updated - but it will be, eventually!), but I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to talk about Adventure Mode!
Adventure Mode is probably the most anticipated mode. In this mode, the focus is on dungeon crawling instead of building. It revolves around solving puzzles and exploring. Although the Adventure Mode isn't under development yet, there are many Adventure Maps available - all of them created by players. They often use redstone and water for puzzle solving, and usually have an interesting story. One rule applies to all - you are not allowed to destroy any blocks (unless, of course, stated otherwise).
One of my favorites, Escapecraft 3, revolves around escaping a test facility under control of Herobrine, the cunning Minecraft villain. In Escapecraft 3, you can find puzzles utilizing sand mechanics, redstone, pigs (yes, pigs), fire, water, minecarts, and even fishing poles. It is unique in the way that it has checkpoints and comes with a custom texture pack that helps enhance the experience. I suggest playing all 3 episodes of Escapecraft in order, otherwise you might miss the story. I don't want to spoil anything, so if you want to know more, you will have to try it out.
