Kind of like the idea. But i like the ability to sell stuff at overpriced to people. About a month ago i sold a double chest of cobble for 7k to some poor chap, he was thirlled and thought he had the deal of the century for it. I dont want someone to be asking for iron (typically about 300 a stack) and me selling it for 400 but the buyer complaining because its listed at 300.

If one or more people who trade often would post an average that would be cool, but generally i think blocks should be sold more on supply and demand than 'but the forum says it goes for 'X' RC"

Yes I understand what u mean but the list would say
Diamond 90-120 for example but Aswell the list would explain that the list is a guide and not the price that it HAS to sell at

I disagree with both ideas.

If someone were to want to buy (say) iron, they should first go around to some of the stores around and see their listed price. And by taking in that, they know what a reasonable price would be when they go to buy. Someone selling (say) iron would also be able to attain a reasonable price, to get the most business. That's what sellers and buyers do in the real world. Look at what the competition is doing and compete. Supply and demand.

A universal list of prices wouldn't work out, because it artificially keeps the prices still. The prices are always changing, so the price list must also change. If it didn't change, that would give a misleading price.

As for the buying items from the server, that's already been pointed out. This is a light server. Those materials would not have been obtained in a legit way. Additionally, sellers would get less business and the money that would usually be going from the buyer to the seller would be going from the buyer to the server. And in this way, currency is lost from the total money supply, causing deflation, and driving prices down.

I'd be really interested to see the inflation (or deflation) rates on the server. Maybe Intelli has all those statistics.

im sorry but the majority of the people now who keep replying are really starting to iritate me, read all the posts as i explain in more detail in my posts.
the price list is a GUIDELINE, in real life in the UK anyway we have RRP on 99% of products which is Recommended retail price. i dont know if other countries do but i imagine they have something similar, that is all the price list would be and if it is just a list on the forums or website it can be altered every now and then to be more accurate depending on what the price of things are dependant on the supply available and how much people need them.


Also i pointed out that the server based store would only have stock if people had sold stuff to the store, and people could only buy stuff that the store had in stock, so no items would be spawned from thin air, people would have to go out and earn the cr to buy stuff and mine items to sell for cr.

this isn't a debate. if you want to make a price list, do it. gather information about peoples' selling and buying prices and do some simple statistics, and update it once in a while. it sounds like it could probably be useful to some.

in regards to the store yes that would involve some sort of plug in, but the list would not

The idea seems oke, just to make a indicator. Still if you make deals of your own, you quickly learn prices ureself, If I look at myself when trading, I only buy it when I think the price is reasonable to give for the product Im needing. Sometimes I get sweet deals, like 9 diamonds for 450rc sounds like a good deal in favor for me, but there are days that I've paid 100 rc for just one diamond.. So its just what you want to pay for it yourself, and ofc. what the other person is willing to drop! :geek:
