Oh, I forgot, the alex rider series.
They're excellent books, more serious than you'd think for a kid's book.
What else.... The chronicles of ancient darkness series (more commonly know as the wolf brother series)
You can't go past sherlock holmes for crime books (I've read every one ^_^)
I really loved the book, insignia, great sci-fi book.
And the eragon books are excellent if you love lord of the rings.

The Wheel of Time series by the late Robert Jordan, with the last three books being completed by Robert Sanderson after Robert Jordan's death. This is an epic fantasy series spanning thirteen books in total plus a prequel. Read more here if you're interested ;)

Mwan wrote:Airborne by Kenneth Oppel - This is basically a book of a boy worker who works on a blimp/zeppelin who meets a girl that is of upper class and they go on adventures, the other two books in the series are more adventures with these two and the books are called Skybreaker and Starclimber (I feel that it's kinda like a time where zeppelins and blimps still exist had the Hindenburg crash never happen. This is one of my favorite book series and it was just so amazing when I read it that it's the only series I have ever wanted to reread).
These books. Are the best books ever.
Anyway, I also like the children's picture book Mourka the Mighty Cat.
It has a cat in it.
Duh.

And the whole Hardy Boys series. All of them. But not the new ones, the nice old ones from 1920.

Well to start there's the Spook series and this is the blurb from the back of the first book: WARNING! Not to be read after dark. "Someone has to stand against the dark. And you're the only one who can." For years, the local Spook has been keeping the County safe from evil. Now his time is coming to an end, but who will take over? Many apprentices have tried... Some floundered, some fled< some failed to stay alive. Just one boy is left. Thomas Ward. He is the last hope. But does he stand a chance against Mother Malkin, the most dangerous witch in the County? So as you can see it's quite the epic series.

Any of Terry Pratchett books are a good read for a laugh. And who could forget Judge Dredd.

[Edit] Also the Hyrule Historia is quite good if you enjoy the Legend of Zelda series.
