Upon hearing this I figured most of the world doesn't know about this. So I decided upon myself to spread the word. Biggest good news I heard about EA so far, and my hope that they will be doing its consumers good restored. However this bit of news applies to new titles. Others such as ME3 (heard it had it), Bc2, BF3, etc will keep theirs.

I do apologize ahead of time if I overstepped a boundry by posting this. But this is news that excited me a whole lot and wanted to share.

Whilst this is good news (if a little late), you do know why don't you?
Both Sony & Microsoft have registered patents on disc locking technology.
Yes they have both said they will not use this technology, but they also said it is down to 3rd parties as to wether or not to use it.

You can put money on it that EA will use this in place of online passes making the game unusable to anyone other than the original purchaser.

Thanks for killing my excitement. as I know for sure EA will do this to screw its consumers over.

On the flip side though M$ have said they won't go down the "always online" route after the public backlash.
So unless they leave all discs as an open session I can't really see a feasible way they can lock a disc to a console ID without having to be online for the initial first play.
