Sounds like a totally legit fight/war, the fact that spawn was nearby was total coincidence. Unless someone is just sitting at the spawn border waiting for people to step across then its a legit wilderness killing. And even then, unless they have killed multiple people i wouldn't call it spawn camping.

People, before you exit spawn, take a look around. If there are 5+ people in diamond gear going nuts right across the border, either back off and cross somewhere else or get your own sword and join in, but don't walk into the middle of a fight and then whine when you get sliced.

So, to summary, You need more Proof to ban someone, You are NOT supposed to take valuable items to spawn, because everyone is bound to die there at one point or another, and if there is people around the edge of spawn, you NEED to avoid them at all costs UNLESS you trust them with your stuff.

Stay away from people you don't trust, and leave your treasure at home.

Players should never request a lock, ever. If saves thinks it needs a lock, he will do it, and if he doesn't he won't. You people trying to hide your embarrassing little opps by demanding a lock is just silly. I say we drag this out for a few more pages by discussing exactly what constitutes spawn camping which is a perfectly valid discussion in this thread and since panthers never actually to bothers to define spawn camping in his rules it obviously needs to be discussed.

Spawn camping should only be considered the multiple repeated killings of a single player by another player or group of players when he attempts to leave spawn. A single death should never ever be considered spawn camping.
